"Bringing diamonds and lifestyles together, I want people to know the pleasure of using them
for a long time."

N.E.W.S. Project Toshie Kato (joined Kashikey in 2008)

  • Story.1I convey the brand's world-view by empathizing with the people who look at and use our products.

I'm in charge of three main areas of work, but promoting brand sales for Kashikey Brown Diamond takes up most of my time. I do everything from project planning and creating promotional materials like catalogues and pamphlets, to updating the website, preparing content and advertisements for Instagram, providing support for jewelry fairs, and conducting staff seminars both inside and outside the company. I make sure to pay special attention to how I should convey the brand's world-view while preserving it as I go about performing each of these tasks and while empathizing with company staff, clients, and customers.
My other work entails building the corporate website and preparing the company newsletter. In addition, I do PR work that involves dealing with the press and dispatching information, as well as lending out jewelry I've chosen for actresses and entertainers to wear in magazines and other media.
People tell me that it's really splendid work. Certainly the finished product is splendid, but until it reaches that point, I do nothing but work that requires me to have patience as I take things on steadily, one by one. Despite all of that, I want to always stay positive while creating new things that have never been seen before.

  • Story.2I can convey the charm of products that I believe in my heart are fabulous. That's the most worthwhile thing I do.

My work gets completed in the form of posters and pamphlets, and every time I actually hold them in my hands, I feel deeply moved. Above all, I feel happy when I've been able to incorporate my sentiments well while preserving the brand's world-view. Also, when I pass those items to clients and customers and receive a favorable response, I think about how glad I am that I've kept at it to be able to come this far.
I feel that there's no work more worthwhile for me than being able to handle jewelry that I believe in my heart is fabulous and being able to convey its charm.

As a challenge to be taken up, because Kashikey has its roots dealing in loose diamonds from business to business, I think that there's still a lot of work to be done with the branding of products that are consciously made to go from business to consumer. There are a growing number of women who are self-reliant both emotionally and financially, and it's necessary to appeal to their sensibilities. In addition, proposals that go beyond the differences between the sexes and efforts to capture the times are absolutely essential, so I always want to keep learning in order to accomplish this.

  • Story.3I want to have people of my generation enjoy jewelry on a daily basis.

Right now, I'm working reduced hours while raising two boys. Most women come back to work after their pregnancies, and there are also male employees who are taking childcare leave. Personally, I feel that this is an environment that makes it easy for me to both work and raise children.
In the middle of my life as a married woman taking care of children, I think that something I noticed from wearing diamond jewelry everyday as a part of my lifestyle is how wonderful the jewelry is. I myself really felt that after wearing a Niessing wedding ring. That's why I want other people of my generation to enjoy wearing jewelry on a daily basis. I don't mean jewelry that you'll stop wearing after one season, but reliable, high-quality pieces that you'll be able to enjoy throughout your life as an adult woman.
